Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said it was “ridiculous” to suggest that President Joe Biden is importing millions of immigrants into the United States to increase political power in favor of Democrats. “There is,” he said.
During Wednesday’s Senate budget hearing, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) told Mayorkas, “The number of illegal immigrants that you and the president have allowed into our country will be counted in reapportioning Congressional districts.” Is it true?” he asked.
Mayorkas initially responded: “I don’t know if I understand your question, but I can certainly say that I disagree with the wording.”
President Kennedy asked again, “Isn’t it true that the number of illegal immigrants that you and President Biden allow into our country will affect the distribution of electoral votes?” Mr. Mayorkas finally responded, “Senator, the idea that we’re going to tolerate illegal immigration is nothing short of ridiculous.”
Mr. Mayorkas’ comments come after a Rasmussen Report survey this month found that a majority of likely voters (57%), including 54% of white voters and 68% of Hispanics, believe Republicans will win a permanent Democratic majority. It comes amid indications that Biden believes he is importing immigrants into the United States in order to form a I can’t get over it.
In fact, immigration plays an important role in the apportionment of Congress and, by extension, the number of electoral votes in presidential elections.
For example, in 2020, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) researchers revealed The nation’s immigration policies, which bring in more than 1 million legal immigrants and millions more immigrants to the United States each year, contributed to the swings in about 26 House seats.
“To put this number into perspective, changing the party affiliation of the current 21 members of Congress would flip the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. CIS researchers Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler wrote:
Illegal immigrants and their U.S.-born minor children will have five seats redistributed in 2020, with Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, Minnesota, and West Virginia each losing one seat. In 2020, they won seats they would have held otherwise. Two seats each will be added in California and Texas, and one seat will be added in New York. [Emphasis added]
Years of research have consistently shown that the larger the foreign-born population in an area, the more likely that area is to vote Democratic over Republican.
In 2019, atlanticRonald Brownstein found that Democrats win in nearly 90 percent of Congressional districts with a higher foreign-born population than the national average. This means that in any congressional district with a foreign-born population greater than 15.5 percent, a Democrat has a 90 percent chance of being elected and a Republican only a 10 percent chance of being elected.
of washington post, new york times, atlantic oceanAxios, Los Angeles Timesand the wall street journal All agree that rapid demographic changes facilitated by mass immigration are tilting the country toward a permanent Democratic political majority.
Axios reported in 2019 that “the biggest threat to the Republican Party’s long-term viability is demographics.” “The numbers just don’t lie… There are no demographic megatrends that favor Republicans.”
The United States already has the world’s most generous immigration system and is expected to import 15 million new foreign-born voters by 2044. About 8 million of them will arrive entirely through a process known as “chain migration.”Newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the United States
