President Biden trails ‘nearly every’ other Dem in disastrous poll

A new poll finds President Biden trailing in approval ratings in seven key battleground states with “nearly every” Democrat tested as an alternative party leader, including Vice President Kamala Harris.

a BlueLabs Analytics Survey Notes The survey, distributed to Democrats, interviewed more than 15,000 voters in key battleground states including Pennsylvania and found that the alternative candidates had an average lead of three points over the 81-year-old president.

“Nearly all Democrats surveyed performed better than the president, including Vice President Kamala Harris, who also performed better than the president,” the study concluded.

But Harris also trails average candidates including Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, all of whom beat Biden and Harris and led former President Donald Trump by about 5 points across battleground states.

“Part of the increase in votes was due to winning the support of undecideds and those who previously supported third parties,” the memo said. This was first reported by Politico..

“But alternative candidates are also taking votes away from Donald Trump, and all of them continue to hold sway over the Democratic base,” the article continues.

With concerns about Biden’s age and mental health reaching a fever pitch following his poor performance in the presidential debates, “voters are looking for fresh faces,” the memo confirmed.

But the polls also show Americans don’t want the 59-year-old Harris.

“Nearly twice as many voters say delegates should nominate the best candidate rather than choosing the next candidate,” the report said, adding that “candidates who are more closely aligned with the current administration perform relatively worse than candidates who took other tests.”

The BlueLab Analytics memo comes as congressional Democrats continue to exert public pressure on the octogenarian leader to withdraw from his 2024 reelection campaign.

“Democrats are so desperate to get Biden out of the election that they’re running massive sample-size polls that prove it’s really hard to beat Trump at this point,” Republican pollster Brent Buchanan said of the memo’s release.

“Democrats are unable to throw enough money at a new candidate on the national stage, while at the Republican National Convention a fully defined Trump emerges, united and ready to take on the well-funded Democratic candidate.”

Meanwhile, according to Democratic Political Action Committee data leaked by Pac News earlier this month, Trump, 78, is “comfortably” leading Biden in seven battleground states: Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada and Arizona.

At least 20 Democrats have called on Biden to halt his campaign following his disastrous performance in the June 27 debate with Trump, in which he spoke in a husky voice, stuttered and at times gave incoherent answers.

a Data for progress A post-debate survey of swing voters, or those who are still undecided, released Wednesday found that 53% were concerned about the president’s age, at 81. Just 37% were more concerned about criminal charges against Trump.

A pre-debate poll conducted by a think tank found that 41% of respondents were concerned about Biden’s age and intellectual ability – a staggering 12 percentage points.

The survey results show a dramatic shift in the aftermath of the June 27 debate from concern about Trump and his legal challenges to concern about Biden.

Trump was convicted in May of 34 felony counts of falsifying expenses.

The surprising poll came shortly after it was reported that Biden held a “tense” Zoom call with dozens of moderate Democrats last weekend, just hours before the assassination attempt on President Trump.

According to sources who spoke to PacNews, the oldest president in history lost his train of thought and dismissed concerns that his 2024 presidential bid will fizzle out.

Later, in a letter to members of Congress, Biden said he remained “firmly committed” to continuing the campaign.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, the first House Democrat to publicly call on Biden to resign, came forward again Wednesday and urged party leaders to reconsider.

“My call for President Biden to step down has become even more urgent. Our decision must take into account the reality of steadily worsening poll numbers, not just wishful thinking,” he said in a statement.

To Democrats’ scorn, the Democratic National Committee postponed plans for an electronic ballot to nominate Biden until August and abandoned a digital roll call that could have confirmed him as the nominee in July.
