The NFL Draft Heads to DC!
On Monday, President Donald Trump revealed that the 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, DC. He made this announcement alongside NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Washington Commander owner Josh Harris, and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.
Trump described the NFL Draft as “a celebration of one of the most precious cultural institutions in the country.” This marks the first time the draft will be held at the National Mall, right in the heart of the U.S. capital.
“It’s a great honor to have that. I think it’s great for everyone. It’s great for our country. It’s going to be very special. There’s no scene like that. There’s no site like that,” Trump expressed.
Goodell shared that he anticipates over 1 million fans will attend the three-day event in 2027.
“This is a big deal for the 2027 NFL Draft – it will be held at the National Mall in Washington, DC, our country’s capital,” Trump stated, emphasizing the significance of the event.
Personally, I’m really looking forward to the NFL Draft being in Washington, DC. There are so many ways to showcase it from an American patriot angle. Sure, a sunny day in Miami would be nice, with palm trees around, but I think this draft has the potential to be quite epic.
