Authorities say that a Brazilian citizen who had previously been deported was arrested by federal law enforcement officials after allegedly raping and assaulting a child.
Irma Leandro de Oliveira, a 53-year-old woman from Brazil, was arrested on March 20 in Falmouth, Massachusetts by officers and agents of the Ice, FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Boston.
“Irma Leandro de Oliveira has been charged with seven different crimes relating to sexual assault on children in the Massachusetts community.”
De Oliveira was charged with rape of a child, reckless danger of a child, indecent exposure, indecent assault and battery of a child under the age of 14, unnatural behaviour with a child, aggravated legal rape of a child, and incest.
De Oliveira had previously been deported before returning to the United States.
The US Immigration Customs Enforcement Agency has been announced in statement This week, the US Border Patrol released the arrest of de Oliveira on September 20, 2007. Ice noted that de Oliveira had illegally entered the United States near Laredo, Texas. Border Patrol reportedly provided her with a prompt removal notice and order.
Ice Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston Acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde I said De Oliveira illegally re-entered the United States on an unknown date, unknown location, without being inspected, granted or parole by a US immigration officer.
Hyde declared, “Irma Leandro de Oliveira has been charged with seven different crimes relating to sexual assault on children in the Massachusetts community. These are simply unacceptable crimes.”
Hyde declared, “Ice Boston will continue to prioritize the safety of our children by arresting and dismissing foreign criminals who pose a threat to our New England residents.”
The ICE execution and removal business in San Antonio removed Deoliveira from the US to Brazil on December 27, 2007.
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement said de Oliveira was given notice of intent/decision to revive the prior removal order.
Ice said De Oliveira is also expected to be charged with illegal re-entry after deportation.
US Immigration Customs Enforcement Agency announcement This week, 206 illegal foreigners were arrested for stabbing wounds in New York City between April 6th and April 12th.
ICE said more than half of the migrants arrested have either been found serious criminal convictions or are currently facing charges of crimes such as murder, assault, arson, rape, drugs and illegal firearms. One of the illegal immigrants arrested is a 22-year-old member of the Tren de Aragua Gang in Venezuela.
“The majority of aliens arrested have a terrible criminal history, including manslaughter, rape, assault, drug trafficking and sexual assault on minors,” said Judith Almodovar, acting field office director for ice enforcement and removal operations.
Acting Ice Director Todd Lyons said last week’s operation “targeted the most dangerous alien criminals with crime.”
