On MSNBC's “Deadline: White House” broadcast on Wednesday, Illinois Gov. JB Pretzker (D) claimed that “glomeration prices are rising as democracy is being taken away.” And, “The impact on you regarding your healthcare is that 770,000 people in Illinois will lose healthcare as a result of what Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the Republican Congress are doing now, that's dangerous to your way of life and that's something people need to understand.”
“Like what happens in my state, when you lose, we're losing, we're losing our meat and poultry inspectors. If you're in the meat and poultry industry, if you're trying to sell your items, if no one's inspecting them, you can't sell them. By the way, if you go to the grocery store and the prices go up because your supply chain is broken, the prices go up when there's contaminated meat and poultry on the shelf.
He added.[I]You talk to 100 people…and you tell people, democracy is at risk, no one knows what it looks like. They have never experienced it before. And the reality is, what people need to hear is what its effect is, that democracy is being taken away and grocery prices are rising. The impact on you from your healthcare perspective is that 770,000 people in Illinois will lose healthcare as a result of what Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the Republican Congress are doing now, that's a risk to your way of life, and that's something people need to understand. It's all reasonably priced. It's a way that people can make it a little easier to live their lives every day. And they're taking it from you. That's what it is like to take away democracy. So they need to diverge between educating people about what democracy is being taken away from and talking to people about what the message should be and why they need to vote for Democrats. ”
