Prince Harry has reportedly found a new “father figure” in Hollywood music producer and film composer David Foster.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, has famously had a strained relationship with his father, King Charles III, since stepping down from royal life in 2020 and moving to the United States.
The ongoing rift has been exacerbated by the publication of several tell-all books by the Sussex camp, including the explosive 2023 memoir “Spare.”
Now living with the “Suits” alum, 43, in Montecito, California, Harry appears to have some reliable new friends, including Canadian music icon The London Times reports:.
The 74-year-old film composer is just a year younger than Prince Harry's father, but has become a close friend and confidant to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they continue to build a life in the United States.
The 16-time Grammy Award winner reportedly lives near Harry and Meghan in the upscale Montecito neighborhood, and is often someone Harry turns to for advice.
Additionally, Foster's wife, actress Katharine McPhee, previously described their close bond as “beautiful” and said the two are just “like father and son.”
“My husband and Harry have a really great relationship. It's so cute,” she added.
McPhee is familiar with the royal couple, having previously attended the same Catholic middle school in Los Angeles as Markle, 43.
The 40-year-old wasn't friends with the Suits alum at school, but they reunited in London when McPhee was starring in the musical Waitress.
During that time, Harry and Foster's bond grew stronger.
The friendship between the four has only grown stronger since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quit royal life and moved across the ocean four years ago.
Foster and McPhee helped the couple find a place to live in Canada, eventually settling into a luxury $14.1 million rental home in Victoria.
They stayed in British Columbia for three months before eventually relocating to Montecito.
Foster said in 2020 that it was an honor to help the couple.
“I was just happy to be able to do what I could for them through my friends. They seemed to have had a wonderful rest,” he told the Daily Mail at the time.
“They are a young, modern family who will likely want to balance their royal responsibilities with being a family in 2020.”
The couple has been spotted hanging out together in California recently.
