Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have not received an invitation from the royal family to spend their annual Christmas break at Sandringham in Norfolk, according to reports.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be spending Christmas in the United States, where they live, as they did not receive an invitation to Sandringham. People magazine reportedsaid, citing sources.

The report notes that Duchess Kate posted an emotional holiday message on her Instagram, writing, “A special message that reflects the importance of love, empathy, and how much we need each other during the most difficult of times.” The announcement was made just as I wrote that I would be sending a letter to my guests. Kate's last public appearance was with her family outside Sandringham Church after the Christmas morning service in December 2023.

Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer earlier this year and is currently undergoing treatment.

The royal family's stay at Sandringham is a long-standing tradition, with the late Queen Elizabeth usually recuperating here from December until February, when her father, King George VI, died.

Grant Harrold, Prince Charles' former personal butler, said this week that the royal family's upcoming holidays this year will be “like any other Christmas, with a focus on young families.” He told the New York Post. “Like the late Queen, they are very family-oriented, so that will be the focus.”
