Prince Harry pays respects at Queen Elizabeth's grave on the third anniversary of her death

Prince Harry Visits England on Queen Elizabeth’s Death Anniversary

Prince Harry journeyed from California to England to mark the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death. There was quite a bit of buzz regarding whether King Charles would meet with him, but experts, well, didn’t think that would happen.

On Monday, Harry arrived at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor to visit the burial site of his late grandmother. He brought along a wreath of flowers as a tribute. It seems fitting, especially considering the emotional weight of the occasion.

Queen Elizabeth passed away on September 8, 2022, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was 96 years old—a remarkable life.

Speculation About Family Dynamics

Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, noted that Harry’s visit seemed necessary this year, especially after the disruptions he and Meghan Markle caused during their visit the previous year. Fitzwilliams mentioned, “Given that Harry is in England on this poignant anniversary, it’s appropriate for him to pay his respects at her grave. However, we shouldn’t forget the difficulties he and Meghan presented for the royal family.”

Harry’s UK trip began early Monday morning, but neither Meghan nor their children, Archie and Lilibet, accompanied him.

Fitzwilliams conveyed the likelihood that Harry wouldn’t reunite with Prince William or King Charles during his four-day stay. He remarked, “It appears very unlikely that William will see his brother during this week’s visit.” He added that both William and Catherine were attending an event in tribute to the Queen on that day.

As for King Charles, speculation surrounding a potential meeting with Harry swirled. Yet, it seems there remains a lack of trust between the royals and the Duke of Sussex.

Harry’s Work Commitment

Interestingly, expert Helena Chard pointed out that Harry is also in the UK for work, specifically to award the WellChild Award, commemorating 20 years of this event, which has significant personal importance to him. This award honors the courage of seriously ill children and the caregivers supporting them—a cause close to Harry’s heart.

During an event on Monday, Harry appeared to connect well with the audience. He even hinted at some tension with William when he spoke with a young recipient of the Inspirational Young People Award. When talking about siblings, Harry playfully asked if the young winner found his brother troublesome, and the boy replied, “No, we’ll be fine.”

Harry’s relationship with his family has been strained since he and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020, citing overwhelming media scrutiny and a sense of lack of support from the palace.

Since relocating to California, the couple has shared their experiences through various interviews and Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” which exposed some personal family dynamics—a rather candid approach, to say the least.

In a statement earlier this year, Harry expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, revealing some regret about ongoing conflicts. He mentioned uncertainties about his father’s health, highlighting a sense of urgency in bridging those gaps.

Harry’s time in London presents a rare chance for him to see King Charles, who is believed to be in Balmoral, where he has not met with Harry in person since February 2024.

Fox News Digital made attempts to reach out for comments from both Harry and representatives from Buckingham Palace.
