Prince William paid a private visit to MI6 headquarters in London on Thursday, but details of the secret visit are being kept secret.
Prince Charles, 41, met with the British Secret Service, which handles foreign intelligence and protects the UK from espionage outside the UK.
Royal visits to MI6 are usually announced in advance, but Prince William’s visit was only made public after he left the agency.
News of the heir to the throne’s visit was published on Friday morning in the Palace Circular, a daily publication of official royal events.
However, details about the nature of his visit remain scarce and it is not known who William met with.
Par TelegraphA palace circular said: “Prince Charles visited the Secret Intelligence Service this afternoon.”
The father-of-three made a similar visit in 2022 when he was still the Duke of Cambridge.
Then in 2012, Prince William visited MI6 headquarters in London with his wife, Kate Middleton.
In 2019, William spent three weeks working with teams from MI5, MI6 and GCHQ to gain a deeper understanding of how the UK security and intelligence agencies work.
“These institutions are filled with people from everyday life doing extraordinary work to keep us safe,” the future king said at the time.
“They work in secret and are often unable to even talk to their family or friends about the work they do or the stress they face.”
Prince William’s visit came just hours after Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had appointed Baroness Manningham-Buller, a former head of MI5, as the first woman to serve as Chief of the Order of the Garter.
The visit comes just two days before the King’s annual military flag procession, known as one of the biggest events in the royal calendar.
Prince Charles has confirmed he will attend, but it is not yet clear whether the 42-year-old Princess of Wales will attend.
The princess has made few public appearances since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March, but recent reports suggest she is “considering” making a balcony appearance over the weekend.
