Cas, a Princeton man who is accused of murdering and mutilating him by his brothers, arrived at New Jersey Church Saturday morning.
The mourners are said to have been that 27-year-old Matthew (31), beat him and stabbed him on February 22 with a golf club and knife.
He then tore his brother's eyeballs, ate them, and set the family cat on fire in his wavy Princeton apartment, police sources said.
Police described the horrifying scene as “terrifying” and “overboard.”
If convicted of a heinous crime, Hartgen faces 30 years of life in prison.
The horrifying incident shocked those who knew a heeled family who lived in a $1.1 million home on the Toms River before moving to their Princeton apartment.
Joseph was one of three boys born to David and Debra Hertgen.
According to the obituary, he has been working as an analyst at Red Bank's Locust Point Capital since 2023.
“He was a very kind person, had a great love for life and his smile brightened up every room,” it said.
