Author and lecturer Priscilla Shirer had this to say about the animated film: Inside Out 2 “The film has a biblical message that shouldn’t be missed,” Shirer said in an Instagram video posted to her feed shortly after watching the Disney/Pixar blockbuster with her family. The film tells the story of a 13-year-old girl named Riley who hits puberty and faces a flood of new emotions for the first time in her life. The film gives viewers an up-close look at Riley’s personified emotions: joy, fear, sadness, disgust, anger, and the new emotions of anxiety, envy, confusion, and boredom.
Anxiety dominates Riley’s emotions in the second half of the film.
“There’s a scene where Joy looks at Anxiety and says, ‘Let her go,’ and I just felt something in my heart in that scene,” Shirer said. “I’m saying maybe the Spirit of the living God was in that scene. Joy says to Anxiety, ‘Let her go.'”
“The Bible says the joy of the Lord is your strength,” Shirer added. To tell“Do not be anxious about anything.”
Inside Out 2 The film exceeded box office expectations, grossing $154 million domestically in its opening weekend and over $450 million to date, easily beating the second-placed film to become the biggest movie of the year. Dune Part 2 ($282 million).
The sequel to the 2015 blockbuster Inside Out, The book chronicles Riley’s family’s journey from the familiarity of the Midwest to a strange new home in San Francisco.
in Inside Out 2As Riley enters adolescence, she goes off to summer hockey camp with her friends. During camp, she experiences a flood of new emotions, including anxiety and embarrassment, but then rediscovers joy.
The film stars Amy Poehler as Joy, Kensington Tallman as Riley, Tony Hale as Fear, and Phyllis Smith as Sadness. Rated PG for thematic elements.
