Palestinian People’s Assembly Targets US Military Supply Chains
During an event on Friday in Detroit, Michigan, speakers at the Palestinian People’s Assembly outlined strategies to disrupt the shipment of essential US military equipment linked to F-35 fighter jets.
Aisha Nizar, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement, emphasized the need for a global arms embargo. She focused on US military and commercial shipping companies and mentioned a campaign aimed at disrupting supply chains, specifically targeting Maersk.
Nizar highlighted that members of the Pro-Palestine movement should focus on “very vulnerable supply chains,” which could significantly impact Maersk Shipping. She remarked that components for the F-35 are particularly open to “bold” actions.
“What we learned,” Nizar stated about the campaign, “is that we need to start pinpointing these supply chains, understanding how they operate, and revealing how the infrastructure is complicit in this system, which will eventually help halt the ongoing genocide against everyday workers.”
She elaborated:
“There are various ways commercial carriers engage in the arms trade. I’ve talked about maritime security programs. These involve weapons depots, and they are responsible for moving different types of munitions to Israel. Whether it comes from a Defense Logistics Agency warehouse outside the Bay Area or elsewhere, the F-35 supply chain is crucial to understand and potentially intervene in.”
The F-35 is well-known for its capacity to carry “Bunker Buster” bombs. Several branches of the US military operate this aircraft, which is vital for US national security. With its fifth-generation stealth technology, the F-35 is a multi-role fighter used for various missions, from air-to-air battles to ground combat, all while sharing important intelligence with command centers and allied forces.
Nizar encourages her group to recognize that breaching the F-35 supply chain could prevent the US government from deploying these jets in military actions abroad.
“If a specific point in the F-35 supply chain is disrupted, it can make a significant difference in people’s lives back home,” Nizar commented.
“We need to be surgical,” she continued. “We have to be strategic and bold because there are numerous points within these supply chains where we can make our mark, and it’s crucial that we do.”
🎯Aisha Nizar: “Marsk is the target.”
During the Palestine People’s Assembly, Nizar’s extremist approach was clear. The group is not just targeting weapons manufacturers but also logistics companies facilitating the transportation of arms.
Critics argue that it’s problematic for anti-American groups to discuss methods of disrupting essential national security supply lines. It’s naive to think that members of this movement are merely privileged individuals seeking trendy social causes. Nizar and others are not simply discussing hypotheticals; their rhetoric goes far beyond restricting military aid to Israel. They are essentially proposing actions that could hinder US military capability both at home and abroad.
Treason is the only crime specifically outlined in the US Constitution, designed to safeguard against political misuse. It’s defined under Article 3, Section 3, involving acts such as waging war against the United States or aiding enemies, which could result in severe penalties, including prison time and fines.
The government takes measures to ensure national security from individuals like Nizar, who advocate for what they term as “audacious actions,” which could weaken the nation’s defense against real threats from various global adversaries.
