Greg Williamson: A Real Estate Investor with a Passion for Music
Greg Williamson is an unusual blend of a broker and real estate investor, managing to intertwine his two passions: real estate and music.
If you’re familiar with Douglas Elliman brokers, his name might ring a bell. Williamson is the executive producer of an event that has gained recognition over the last ten years: the annual Love Rocks concert at the Beacon Theater. This concert, described as an event of faith and love, has attracted stars like Paul Simon, James Taylor, Nile Rodgers, Cher, Alicia Keys, and John Mayer.
The latest concert took place on March 5, featuring performances by artists such as Mary J. Blige and the Goo Goo Dolls, alongside notable guests like Bill Murray and John McEnroe. But now, Williamson is shifting gears to focus on selling one of Brooklyn’s tallest residential towers.
The 50-story One Montague Place, a $550 million endeavor by Landau Properties, will offer 46 units priced starting around $5.9 million when sales launch in 2027. Williamson is leading the team, which includes colleagues Andrew Anderson, Karen Heyman, and Casey Heyman. The tower is set for completion in 2029.
Located at 205 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights, this project holds personal significance for Williamson as it’s where he grew up. “I was born and raised in Brooklyn Heights,” he shared. “This project is personal to me. It’s going to be something that Brooklyn has never seen before.”
According to Williamson, “This project includes half-story, full-story, and triplex homes starting at 3,000 square feet,” with each unit offering between 600 to 1,900 square feet of private outdoor space.
The interiors won’t disappoint, either. “The kitchen is custom-designed with Gaggenau appliances and features a wet bar, and every unit has at least three bedrooms that present panoramic views of the harbor, the Manhattan skyline, and all the bridges,” he added.
As with any high-profile project, Williamson is fully committed. “It’s going to be the most amazing project that’s ever come to Brooklyn,” he declared, noting its spacious layouts and top-notch amenities.
These amenities include a restaurant called BondST, a 63-foot indoor swimming pool, four padel courts, various facilities for children, and even a jazz club. The jazz club resonates with Williamson’s background, given his involvement in the music scene. In 2021, he co-founded Soho Sessions, an exclusive live music series that has featured well-known artists raising money for charitable causes.
“This is something special, as the intimate setting underscores a unique purpose,” he previously told the press, reflecting on the eclectic mix of attendees who enjoy the music and the cause behind it.
High-profile guests have included Michael J. Fox, Mariska Hargitay, and Jerry Seinfeld, among others.
Williamson believes that his partnership with Landau was a natural fit. “Johnathan (Landau) recognized what I had built over the past decade in music and community engagement,” he explained, noting their shared commitment to community service. He views this new project as an opportunity to elevate luxury living in Brooklyn Heights.
A musical maestro at heart, Williamson sees his various passions as interlinked. “These connections have fostered real impact and opportunities in the industry,” he said, emphasizing his unique ability to provide creative access for his clients.
With a track record of nearly $100 million raised for various charities, Williamson wants clients to feel confident in his trustworthiness and commitment to their wellbeing. “They know I truly care about everything I take on,” he added.
When asked whether he intends to reach out to celebrities to buy apartments in One Montague Place, Williamson chuckled. “Whatever happens will happen naturally,” he said.
