Congressional Candidate’s Attempt Fails
A left-wing candidate running for Congress has made a misguided effort to equate President Donald Trump with Nazis, but it hasn’t gone well for him.
Mark Davis, a Florida candidate, raised concerns on Thursday about a website called Nazis.us, which redirects to a Department of Homeland Security page. He claimed he stumbled upon it by chance and urged supporters to “make a donation.”
“I pointed that out directly to Kristi Noem’s department,” Davis stated. He elaborated, “If I go to nazis.us, you will be directed to the DHS website.” This idea, however, backfired when users on a social platform soon discovered that Davis was actually the creator of the website he criticized.
After facing backlash in the comments, Davis changed his story, openly acknowledging that he had purchased the domain himself. He said, “If Kristi Noem and Donald Trump didn’t know my name before, they definitely do now. I bought the Nazis. I pointed it directly at Kristi Noem’s department. And now the whole world is watching. I just held up a mirror…and they don’t like the reflection.” He continued, criticizing those who elevate “fascists” while harming groups like women and immigrants.
In a more alarming turn, Davis, who’s been seeking office for over a decade in a district historically favoring Republicans, has made some strong comments about supporters of Trump. “If your husband or wife still supports Trump, leave them. Divorce them. Kick their sorry selves to the curb,” he said. His comments reflect a deep frustration: “They supported a pedophile and a would-be dictator. They watch this country burn…and then they clap. If they elect someone who wants to end democracy, they don’t deserve your loyalty.”
