Prosecutors for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs acknowledge they might proceed to trial without an important witness.

A woman testifying against Sean “Diddy” Combs claims he sexually assaulted her and may appear before a jury early in the trial.

This witness, referred to as “Victim 3” in court documents, is expected to share her experiences of years of exploitation and fear, according to prosecutors.

However, the prosecution team revealed this week that they have had difficulty connecting with her attorney due to a “personal issue” during the jury selection process.

Prosecutor Mohren Comey mentioned on Wednesday that they were unsure if she would be able to testify, emphasizing the challenges in reaching her legal representation.

Comey, who also participated in the prosecution of Ghislaine Maxwell, noted that the witnesses reside outside their hometowns. He added that even if they manage to issue a subpoena, it’s uncertain whether she would appear in court.

This pre-trial complication surfaced just a week after it was reported that a female lawyer indicated plans to use the witness’s real name, rather than the pseudonym previously requested.

Prosecutors plan to provide an update on Friday morning regarding the situation, which relates to the charges of assault and sex trafficking against Combs.

Additional testimonies are anticipated, including those from Combs’ former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, as well as two other women.

Judge Arun Subramanian recently approved the fifth accuser to testify as well.

Combs faces serious allegations of running his record label as a “criminal organization,” accused of abuse, arson, and bribery to conceal illegal activities.

Among the shocking claims, it has been alleged that Combs compelled his ex-girlfriend to perform sexually for days, under the influence of drugs, while he engaged in masturbation as she had sex with another man.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges that could result in a significant prison sentence.
