Prosperity gospel ‘royalty’: Did this money-minded pastor really repent?

Costi Hinn is the nephew of Benny Hinn, a millionaire preacher who preached the gospel of prosperity. This is the belief that if you have faith in God, God will provide you with the safety and prosperity of the material world.

And the millionaire was not criticized lightly.

“If people say something about us or criticise us just like you and others,” says Costi Hin. Ally Beth Stucky “We are persecuted like Paul and persecuted like Jesus.”

“And like Baptists, and non-denominational Christians, and people like you who speak truth about things, you are all dead Christians. You have no spirit, you have no power,” he continues.

However, while he played baseball at Dallas Baptist University, a small interaction challenged his entire belief system.

“I was already working for my uncle so I rolled up to the DBU campus at Black H2 Hammer and it turned out to be a $10,000 watch. I have a Baptist coach, literally one of the best hit coaches in college baseball,” he recalls.

“He is talking about God's sovereignty. “Men, don't worry about scouts and not drafted, and the king's heart is like a water channel in the hands of the Lord.

“I was always teasing him in my head, “This Baptist guy with this white Camry knows how to control God and let me do what I want.”

Despite his inner protest, this has led to planting seeds that will change his life and preaching the true gospel.

But it's not coming without cost.

“He doesn't want to tell me,” Hin said of his famous uncle, Benny. “He's still quite upset. My family should not oppose his family, no matter what you do.

“I explained how I grew up as a hybrid between royal and mafia royal families for its gorgeous wealth. We flew on Gulf jets and lived our best, best lives,” he continues. “When we left, we were cut off. We received death threats, both money and safety.”

Rumors have swirled in the past that his uncle had repented because of his false teachings, but Hin claims that if he is, it “really not.”

“He repented through these intervals of history. Like in the 90s, God said that he would burn all gay people in America with fire,” says Hin. “He said that Jesus was about to appear physically in Africa, and that he would later apologize, as he had raked coals together by many wise and faithful pastors.”

“He apologised and said, 'I'm not going to do it again.' Then he prophes incorrectly again, and then prophes in again,” he adds.
