Psaki defends debate prep team: 'Biden was bad'

MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki, who once served as President Biden’s press secretary, defended her campaign amid criticism of its performance at last week’s presidential debate, instead placing the blame on the president.

“It’s ridiculous,” Psaki said. Blaming Biden’s preparation team Because of his poor performance.

“It was a terrible debate. There’s no doubt they were tough, strategic and forthright (I’ve witnessed them in action), but preparation doesn’t always determine the outcome,” she said. “Biden was terrible. An important conversation about what happens next, but if you’re directing your anger at ‘preparedness’ then you’re not talking right.”

Ron Klain, a senior Biden adviser who helped prepare the president. Responded “Thank you,” he told Psaki.

Biden’s shaky performance has sparked debate within the party about whether he should step down as the Democratic presidential nominee.

Blame was placed on staff, Biden’s family, the president himself and the media for the poor performance, and finger pointing became apparent.

Biden acknowledged at a campaign rally on Friday that he was a better debater in the past, but also said his campaign against former President Trump was about more than politics.

“Folks, I can’t walk as easily as I used to. I can’t talk as smoothly as I used to. I can’t debate as well as I used to,” Biden said at a campaign rally in Raleigh, North Carolina.

“But I know what I know,” he continued, “I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. And I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done. And I know what millions of Americans know: When you get knocked down, you get up.”
