President Vladimir Putin recently assured the public of his good health following a two-and-a-half-day medical checkup, even though he skipped a blood pressure test during an artificial intelligence conference. At the AI Journey Forum in Moscow, the 73-year-old tried out a new AI kiosk designed to measure pulse and blood pressure using a fingertip scanner.
While surrounded by bodyguards, Putin addressed the audience, mentioning that he had just completed his annual medical examination, which included an overnight stay at a clinic, saying, “Thankfully, everything is going well.” These remarks come amidst ongoing speculation regarding his health.
On another occasion in Moscow, some observers noted that Putin appeared to have bruised or swollen hands. An aide to the Ukrainian president highlighted this with a close-up photo, suggesting there might be an issue with his health based on the appearance of his veins.
Speculation about Putin’s health has been rampant. Earlier this year, President Zelenskiy even stated he believed Putin “will die soon” as rumors of serious illnesses like cancer or a stroke circulated.
During the recent forum, Putin expressed a rather intriguing view on human longevity, suggesting that it might be possible for people to live up to 150 years, although he did reflect on money as always being in short supply, saying, “But like money, there is always too little.”
This isn’t the first instance where Putin has explored themes of longevity and even immortality. In the past, he was caught on a hot mic exchanging jokes about biotechnology and organ transplants during a summit, remarking, “The longer you live, the younger you get,” hinting at the possibility of one day achieving immortality.
The Kremlin has not responded yet to inquiries for additional comments on these discussions.
