Hollywood’s Silence on Gaza Ceasefire
For the past two years, Hollywood has been vocal in its calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Just this Monday, that ceasefire was finally established, marked by the return of 20 hostages held by Hamas. Yet oddly, Hollywood seems silent.
Of course, there are some exceptions like James Woods and John Ondrasik, who have been more outspoken. I suppose when you step out of that MAGA closet, things can get a bit dicey. And yes, I had to say something nice about Late Night since it’s on daily. But let’s be honest, you know what I mean…
This was a significant moment for Hollywood, securing what they’d been pushing for two years—though notably, they hadn’t insisted on the hostages’ return before now. So, what’s the reaction? Almost nothing.
Look at the headlines from Hollywood… It was business as usual: Taylor Swift, movie reviews, box office figures, and, of course, the passing of Oscar legend Diane Keaton. Yet the Gaza ceasefire that Hollywood spent countless hours advocating for? It’s barely mentioned, lurking somewhere in the sidelines.
Why is that? Where’s the celebration?
There seem to be a couple of reasons. One less significant reason revolves around the former president. You might think, “Well, President Trump got the ceasefire, but Hollywood won’t celebrate his wins.” That’s valid, but it’s actually a deeper issue. The real reason is more unsettling.
If a Democrat had achieved the same ceasefire, Hollywood would still likely be dissatisfied. They weren’t really aiming for a truce. What they sought was to see Israel weakened and inching towards disaster.
This might seem surprising, considering there are indeed many Jewish individuals in Hollywood. But just like the mainstream media, there’s a troubling ethical stance among some of these voices.
Leftist perspectives often translate to an aversion to Israel. So, after the horrific events of October 7, 2023, where 1,400 innocent Israelis lost their lives, the left’s focus was more about giving Hamas a win than acknowledging Israel’s suffering.
Yes, the left aligns with Hamas, which openly advocates for the elimination of Israel and, subsequently, Jews and Western civilization. They realized any ceasefire that didn’t lead to the return of hostages and a permanent halt to Hamas would be perceived as a Hamas victory, which is ultimately what Hollywood has been rooting for.
The ceasefire established by Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and neighboring Arab nations poses a dire blow to Hamas. It’s not merely a military defeat; it’s a serious public relations and political setback. People aren’t willing to support Hamas anymore, which could lead to long-term peace and security for Israel—something that’s hard for Hollywood to swallow.
This isn’t just a defeat for Hamas; it also feels like a loss for various Hollywood figures who seem to relish chaos over clarity and goodness.
It’s clear there’s a malignant trend in Hollywood.
And just wait; the real sadness will unfold when Gaza starts to stabilize.
