Raccoon seen riding shotgun discovered with a meth pipe in its mouth during strange traffic stop arrest

Ohio Woman Arrested with Raccoon During Traffic Stop

During a routine traffic stop in Ohio, police made quite an unexpected discovery. They found a raccoon in the front seat of a vehicle, along with crack cocaine and glass meth pipes.

The incident occurred around 7:15 PM on a Monday when officers from the Springfield Township Police pulled over the vehicle.

“Our officers are trained to expect the unexpected, but encountering a raccoon with a meth pipe is definitely a first for us,” remarked the Springfield Township Police Department in a statement.

As Officer Branham approached the vehicle, he spotted a raccoon dubbed “Crunchy” sitting in the driver’s seat with a glass methamphetamine pipe in its mouth. Curious about this unusual sight, he decided to further investigate the vehicle.

A search revealed methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and three used glass pipes concealed within.

The vehicle’s driver, 55-year-old Victoria Vidal from Akron, was taken into custody without resistance. She faced charges for drug possession, three counts of having drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license.

A court judge will look into additional penalties regarding the cocaine possession based on pending lab results.

Reportedly, Vidal was transferred to Cuyahoga Falls police due to an outstanding warrant.

The raccoon was unharmed and was given to the appropriate authorities, confirming that proper documentation exists for raccoon ownership in Ohio.

In a lighthearted twist from the police department, they mentioned the unusual nature of the case, adding that luckily, the raccoon was not in danger.

There were no details provided on whether the raccoon would be returned to Vidal.

Ohio regulations permit residents to own a raccoon as long as they submit the required paperwork.
