Rachel Zegler Highlights That 'Snow White' Was the Top Movie on Disney+ Despite Its Failure

Those who anticipated a disaster from “Snow White” and its star, Rachel Zegler, might be surprised by her perspective. Instead of focusing on how her outspoken comments affected the $350 million live-action remake, she embraced a different viewpoint.

“I loved working on it,” Zegler stated about “Snow White.” “I’ve watched it several times, and it’s currently the top streaming film on Disney+. So, it’s certainly being acknowledged.” In an interview, she mentioned that sometimes negative feelings can overshadow the positive experiences, adding, “What I learned is to really cherish the good moments, because they can coexist with the bad.”

However, being number one for a brief period on a streaming platform doesn’t mean much in the long run.

She then turned her attention to her role in “Evita,” discussing her past feelings of not receiving recognition. “The great thing about ‘Evita’ is that, despite meeting amazing people and creating wonderful work, I never expected to be part of something so celebrated. I was made to feel that wouldn’t happen for me.”

Zegler mentioned, “So far, over 115,000 people have seen the balcony scene, and by the end of the run, it’ll be about 130,000.” This scene features her singing “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.” While most of the play occurs on stage, this moment is visible to the public from the balcony outside the venue.

“Wow, 130,000, Rachel? Did you know there’s someone in Santa Monica who plays on plastic buckets instead of drums? He probably does it 130,000 times a day.”

Jordan Louis from World of Lille pointed out that Zegler’s comments seem like an effort to mend her image and find her way back into Hollywood after the fallout from “Snow White.” Currently, her only projects are an indie romantic comedy and a biopic about Gloria Estefan, which may struggle to get adequate funding.

Though Zegler seemed poised for stardom, her excitement changed with “Snow White,” which some feel tarnished the original’s legacy, and made her appear ungrateful and oblivious. Those involved in “Snow White,” including Zegler, seemed to misunderstand the problems surrounding the film. Her complaints ultimately diminished her standing, with the interview making her come across as distant and self-centered.

She appears to lack the sense of humor and self-deprecation that often endears stars to audiences. If that doesn’t change, she might stay a niche figure among the elite, with some viewing her as being promoted just to illustrate a point. It’s a curious situation.
