Fernando Mendoza is not just aiming for a successful NFL career; he also plans to utilize his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cal Berkeley.
This Wednesday, Mendoza announced his new educational video series, “Finance with Fernando,” in collaboration with US Bank.
The partnership started on April 7, when Mendoza was appointed as the “Chief Financial Playmaker” for the bank, offering insights for their new financial guidance program aimed at the younger audience.
In his promotional message, he said, “I’m Fernando Mendoza, pro quarterback. But my true passion is fiscal responsibility. Let’s flippin go.”
The series is designed to provide Gen Z with a more hands-on approach to understanding finances.
Subscribers will get to learn about 401K contributions, and he’s also offering what he refers to as “the ultimate prize”—his recommendations on LinkedIn.
Mendoza has been active on LinkedIn since his college days, frequently updating his profile during Indiana’s remarkable season, where he won the Heisman Trophy and guided the Hoosiers to a National Championship.
Last year’s NFL Draft saw him being selected as the first overall pick.
Before moving to Indiana in 2025, he spent two years at California, where he reportedly maintained a GPA of 3.4.
With the NFL season underway, Mendoza’s presence is noticeable in various advertisements, including a recent State Farm commercial that highlights his friendly demeanor.
As he starts this new venture into financial education, Mendoza is also positioned as the backup quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, learning from Kirk Cousins in hopes of becoming the team’s long-term solution at the position.
