Vivek Ramaswamy officially declared his candidacy for Ohio Governor on Monday at a rally in his hometown of Cincinnati, outlining his plan to “revive our beliefs” in Ohio.

Musk and Lamaswamy recently sparked a fire among Trump's hardcore Magazine supporters over assistance with H-1B temporary workers visas for highly skilled workers from abroad.
Ramaswamy's comments received many pushbacks from the main voices on the right and some of Trump's political circles, criticizing American culture, saying they “respected the mediocrity of excellence.” .

Before the Senate announcement, Husted had planned to run for governor in 2026. Ramaswamy had expressed interest in serving in the Senate on his part.
DeWine's decision to choose Husted to fill the vacant Senate seat seemed to accelerate Lamaswamy's move to begin running for the governor.
Ramaswamy was raised in Evendale, Ohio, in the suburbs of Cincinnati by her parents who migrated from India. His father worked as an engineer at General Electric Aviation, and his mother was a geriatric psychiatrist. Ramaswamy and his family currently live outside of Columbus.
Ramaswamy is launching a campaign at CTL Aerospace just outside of Cincinnati. According to knowledgeable sources, CTL Aerospace, a privately held company specializing in aviation repairs and original equipment manufacturing, represents the promotion of Lamaswamy towards a new era of Ohio's industrial growth.
The candidates will also be suspended in the Columbus, Toledo and Cleveland areas in the next 48 hours.
The competition for GOP's governor nominations may be competitive. 68-year-old Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced his candidacy for governor later last week.
“This is my heart, my home,” Yost said in a recent press release announcing his candidacy. “I work for the people of Ohio and I love my boss. I think about them and the future from when I wake up in the morning until I go to sleep at night.”

Ohio GOP Treasurer Robert Sprague, who filed papers to run for governor, announced that he had changed course after Husted's Senate appointment and was running for the Republican primary for Ohio Secretary.
