Excitement at SoFi Stadium Despite Rams’ Loss
On Sunday, SoFi Stadium was surprisingly quiet, except for a few security guards scattered around. But you’d never guess that from the noise echoing inside the iconic venue in Inglewood, California.
The Rams organized a viewing party for the NFC Championship game, featuring Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford, and others. Even without any Rams players on the field, the atmosphere was electric as fans gathered to watch the team take on the Seahawks in Seattle for a chance to reach Super Bowl LX.
Around 30,000 fans filled the stadium’s upper levels, eagerly watching the game on the massive infinity screens. It felt just like a typical game day. The store lines were long, high fives flew after big plays, and frustrations echoed around the stadium as technical difficulties and penalties disrupted the game.
Among the crowd were even some fans cheering for the opposing team.
Tickets for the event were reasonably priced—$10 for the general public and $5 for season ticket holders, with all proceeds going to charity, as noted by Rams officials. Attendees mentioned it was worth lining up hours before the game to snag good seats and cheer for their team.
“You don’t get to come to SoFi very often, right?” Jeff Palma observed.
After the Seahawks scored early in the first quarter, you could feel the air shift; silence fell over the crowd. But when Rams running back Kyren Williams caught a 9-yard touchdown near the end of the first half, excitement erupted. The emotional rollercoaster continued into the second half, especially when Stafford’s 34-yard touchdown pass to Puka Nacua brought the Rams within four points.
In that moment, it was hard to remember everyone was just watching the game on screens.
Unfortunately, the Rams couldn’t pull off a complete comeback against the Seahawks, ultimately losing 31-27.
As the game concluded, many fans headed for the exits with disappointed expressions, though some shared their appreciation for the event. “This event was amazing,” Nina Ross remarked. “It was wonderful to see so many fans support the Rams. We still love them.”
Every attendee received a rally towel and had chances to win custom buttons, autographs, and face paint. There was also a merchandise sale offering 50% off on Rams footballs, jerseys, and more.
“The whole experience was great,” Lewis Coid noted. “Even though we didn’t win, we had a fantastic time.”
As the final whistle blew and the lights faded, the PA announcer rallied the departing crowd to join in on the Rams’ signature “Whose house?” cheers. Each time, the fiery response was “Lamb’s House.”
Then came the somber moment that no Rams fan wanted to hear: the MC, with a lowered tone, said five words that lingered in the air. “See you next year.”
