Los Angeles Rams Receiver Accused of Biting and Anti-Semitic Comments
Puka Nacua, a standout player for the Los Angeles Rams, is facing allegations involving biting a woman and making anti-Semitic remarks, according to reports from TMZ.
The accusations surfaced after a woman sought a temporary restraining order related to an incident that reportedly took place in Los Angeles on December 31. Her request was ultimately denied.
Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, responded to the claims, stating that they are merely an “attempted shakedown.” He further described the bite as “only a temporary scar.”
A public hearing regarding the matter is scheduled for April 14.
Previously, Nacua had apologized for what he termed “anti-Semitic” behavior during a December YouTube stream. At that time, he was under scrutiny for comments made while celebrating a touchdown during a livestream with popular YouTuber Adin Ross.
In that incident, Ross, who identifies as Jewish, encouraged Nacua to perform a movement that many perceived as perpetuating damaging stereotypes concerning Jewish individuals. Nacua talked about this celebration before the Rams’ upcoming game against the Seahawks.
Facing significant backlash, he released a statement expressing his regret: “When I participated in a livestream recently, I was suggested to perform a movement that I now realize is anti-Semitic and promotes harmful stereotypes about Jews. I do not support racism or bigotry in any form, and I sincerely apologize to anyone hurt by my actions.”
