Rams star Davante Adams experiences a non-contact knee injury during surprising defeat to the Cardinals

Rams Star Davante Adams Injured in Loss to Cardinals

Just when it felt like the Los Angeles Rams’ season couldn’t take another hit, they faced another setback. This time, it was wide receiver Davante Adams who went down, seemingly without any contact.

Late in Sunday’s narrow 18-16 defeat against the Arizona Cardinals at SoFi Stadium, Adams appeared to injure his left knee, further complicating a season already riddled with problems for a team that once had high hopes for a Super Bowl run.

The injury happened during the Rams’ last touchdown drive. Adams suddenly stopped in the back of the end zone, hopping on one leg before reaching for his knee and limping off the field.

There wasn’t an opponent involved; just an awkward step that left one of the league’s top receivers struggling to move. It was a concerning sight for fans and teammates alike.

Adams did not return to the game, and the extent of his injury remains unclear. Rams head coach Sean McVay didn’t address the injury in his post-game comments but is expected to provide an update during the media session on Monday afternoon.

On the field, quarterback Matthew Stafford managed to connect with tight end Colby Parkinson for a 6-yard touchdown, giving the Rams a brief lead at 16-15. However, the Cardinals pushed back decisively. In the final 47 seconds, they advanced downfield, aided by an unnecessary roughness penalty, leading to a 43-yard field goal from Chad Ryland just as time expired.

Once again, the Rams faced a disappointing outcome, piling on the frustrations for a team that seems to struggle against itself more than its opponents.

In the game, Adams recorded three catches for 39 yards out of four targets. Over six games this season, he has 27 receptions for 441 yards and four touchdowns, proving his importance in just his second year with Los Angeles.
