Puka Nacua’s challenging offseason continues, and this time he faced a literal bump in the road. The Los Angeles Rams player shared an amusing story about an incident at Michael Rubin’s annual “White Party” in the Hamptons, which he described as a success.

During a guest appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive, Nacua recounted an unusual mishap where he slammed into glass and ended up bleeding. This, of course, happened while he was at the party mingling with people like Olympic gymnast Suni Lee and his teammate Davante Adams, completely unaware of the nearly invisible window.

“Oh, the windowpane won,” Nacua remarked. He later found solace in the fact that he discovered three others had also crashed into the same glass. Still, he hesitated when he added, “But ultimately no one else bled. So I can’t say it made me feel entirely better or worse.”

Yet, the mishaps didn’t stop there; Nacua is also facing a civil lawsuit related to an incident on New Year’s Eve, where a woman accused him of biting her shoulder and making anti-Semitic comments. His lawyer has strongly rebuffed this claim, describing the bite as mere “horseplay.” It adds to the drama surrounding Nacua, who had already apologized for using gestures associated with anti-Semitic stereotypes during a broadcast, leading him to seek personal growth in a holistic center.

Even his family found their way into the news. His younger brother, Samson, had an incident where he accidentally hijacked an SUV that was thought to belong to Puka. Fortunately, it was a misunderstanding and no charges were pressed.

On the field, Nacua’s situation remains in limbo as the NFL reviews his conduct, which may lead to a suspension. Recently, he left a joint practice early due to a groin strain, raising eyebrows about his health just as the Rams are being cautious with one of their star wide receivers.

Rams coach Sean McVay shared, “We’re just being smart with him. I’ll be back next week. I’ll be ready.” Given that this is Nacua’s final season on a rookie contract, it’s clear they’ll be careful. He led the NFL last season with 129 receptions and was second in receiving yards with 1,715.

Managing his workload during practices and games is crucial. Yet, it’s clear that managing glass panels at fancy parties might be a different challenge altogether.
