Biden’s FBI Allegedly Stopped Inquiry into Coronavirus Researcher

Recent documents indicate that the FBI prevented Customs and Border Protection from questioning Peter Daszak, the former president of EcoHealth Alliance. Daszak, connected to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and involved in gain-of-function research, drew criticism from Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and several other Republican lawmakers regarding the administration’s handling of the COVID-19 origins investigation.

Additionally, a message released recently among the authors of a key study on the virus’s origins has sparked private doubts about the claim that it originated in bats, which was the main assertion in their work.

On Tuesday, Senator Paul unveiled internal Slack communications involving Christian Andersen, who co-authored “The Proximate Origins of SARS-CoV-2,” along with Robert Ghaly, Eddie Holmes, and Andrew Rumbaugh. Paul remarked, “It’s hard to believe the idea that it came out of a lab, yet they’re still saying the opposite privately. I think we need to expose this level of dishonesty,” emphasizing that these figures receive substantial government funding.

This paper, published in March 2020 in Nature Medicine, has been extensively cited by health officials and the media, dismissing the lab-origin theory. Yet, the released messages seem to reflect a more uncertain stance from the authors than what was publicly presented.

Some of these correspondences revealed internal discussions about the furin cleavage site, a genetic characteristic significant to the lab leak debate. Senator Paul’s office released information stating that at one point, Andersen expressed discomfort over findings he referred to as the “smoking gun,” indicating his lack of confidence in their assertions.

The authors also communicated with national intelligence and NIH leaders to publicly defend their findings. One topic swirling among them involved Ralph Barrick, a notable coronavirus expert, marked by contentious professional rivalry and suspicions regarding his motivations.

Documents additionally hinted that the authors had initially suspected a lab origin for the virus before shifting their conclusions. Last year, a WHO report attributed the emergence of COVID-19 to “zoonotic spillover” from bats or intermediate hosts.

On Monday, Paul revealed that CBP was ready to interrogate Daszak upon his return from the WHO’s investigation before the FBI stepped in to halt the questioning. Dr. Anthony Fauci, a key figure managing the pandemic response, is set to testify before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee about the origins of the virus after being subpoenaed by Chairman Paul.

Fauci has faced allegations of manipulating information relating to the pandemic’s origins and lying to Congress regarding potential wrongdoings.
