Range Bank Announces Leadership Changes
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Range Bank has revealed its new leadership plans as President and CEO Roxanne Doust steps down after 28 years, with Jamie Markham taking over as Chief Loan Officer and Community Bank president.
According to a recent announcement, Doust joined Range Bank in 1997 as Chief Financial Officer. In that role, she oversaw the bank’s finances and operations, focusing on delivering financial services to consumers, small businesses, and commercial entities.
Throughout her time, Doust significantly contributed to the bank’s growth and expansion by adopting new technologies and leading a major merger. Her efforts established Range Bank as a trusted financial institution within the community.
In 2011, she was elevated to Executive Vice President, increasing her responsibilities for daily operations and asset management. Doust later became President and Chief Operating Officer in 2017, and after the retirement of Kempalmer in 2018, she assumed the roles of Chairman and CEO. Notably, her appointment marked her as the first woman to hold all these top positions in the bank’s 138-year history.
“Serving as Range Bank’s chairman, president, and CEO has been a tremendous honor,” Doust remarked. “I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such an incredible team, committed to both our colleagues and customer service. Together, we have built a strong community, provided sound financial advice, and fostered a solid organizational culture.”
Looking ahead, Doust expressed excitement about her retirement, mentioning her confidence in Markham’s abilities. “Jamie truly embodies the values and mission of Range Bank, and I believe his experience and dedication will lead the bank to even greater success,” she added.
To ensure a smooth transition, Doust will collaborate with Markham until he officially steps into the role.
Markham expressed gratitude for Doust’s trust and the support of the bank’s board. “Having worked at the bank for over two decades, I am passionate about helping our community thrive alongside a wonderful team,” he stated. “Roxanne laid down essential foundations for a promising future, and I am excited to learn from her as she enjoys her well-deserved retirement.”
Apart from his work at Range Bank, Markham serves on the advisory board for Michigan Technological University’s Applied Portfolio Management Program and is involved with the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation. He also volunteers as a coach for the Copper Country Junior Hockey Association.
Markham holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan Technological University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
