Rangers coach Peter Laviolette has ‘gotta go’: Boomer Esiason

Despite the Rangers becoming thicker in the Eastern Conference wildcard race, some are looking for head coach Peter La Violett, including Boomer Essiason.

The Rangers sat behind the Canadians and scored points in the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, but lost the last two games and were fighting.

This includes a cruel 2-1 defeat in the flames on Tuesday night.

Radio hosts are clearly well watched now.

“The Rangers have had a break so I think they'll have a little more rest.” Esiason said on WFAN Wednesday morning. “They were so cut off that they were indifferent… [Laviolette] I have to go. ”

In an inactive loss on Tuesday, the Rangers had just 13 shots on Calgary's 35, looking flat throughout most of the game.

The sense of low energy seemed to bother the former Jet quarterback.

“Players can say they don't care or something is wrong within the team's body,” Esiason added. “[Something] It's been a mistake since they lost to the Panthers in the playoffs last year. ”

Laviolet said Rangers were just abolished Following the loss.

“It wasn't there, there was nothing there,” he said. “They got on the ice faster than us, they got to the ice faster than us. They were more prepared, and that's how the game is played.”

Laviolet is in his second season with the Rangers after the Rangers led them to the conference finals a year ago when they fell to the Panthers, the final Stanley Cup champion.

Laviolet was on board in 2023 after Gerald Gallant-led Bruce Hart was bounced in the first round of the playoffs by the Rival Devils.

Gallant coached only two seasons and, like Laviolet, reached his first conference final.

Rabiolet and the Rangers have 13 games left to understand things.
