New Developments in Kidnapping Case of Nancy Guthrie
TMZ founder Harvey Levin shared with Fox News that there’s a second, “much more significant” deadline in the ransom demand concerning Nancy Guthrie. This deadline is set to expire on Monday.
In a conversation on “Hannity,” Levin revealed fresh insights into the ransom note purportedly received from Guthrie’s captors. Nancy is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, co-host of “Today.” He stated, “There are definitely two deadlines involved. One is for changing demands, and another has already passed; the one on Monday is crucial.”
Authorities have noted that the 84-year-old woman was taken forcibly from her home, and since January 31, when she was last seen, her pacemaker has been disconnected from its syncing application.
They are offering a $50,000 reward but report that no suspects have been identified in connection to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
Levin mentioned the ransom note doesn’t yet have clear authenticity, but its details lend it some credibility. “It starts by claiming she’s safe but scared, and they assert she knows exactly what is being demanded,” he explained. He also referenced her Apple Watch, noting there were images of Nancy and Savannah both wearing it, tying into a mention in the note about a specific clock placement in her home.
The FBI confirmed that the ransom letter included two deadlines: one that expired Thursday and the more pressing one coming up soon.
Interestingly, as the search for Nancy intensifies, former President Trump has reached out to Savannah Guthrie regarding the situation.
While Levin refrained from disclosing the exact threats made in the ransom note, he suggested that tracking its origin might be impossible. “From what we understand, pinpointing this email is just not feasible,” he stated.
He speculated that Nancy’s captors might still be within proximity to where she was kidnapped, possibly somewhere in Arizona or even New Mexico. “I think there’s a good chance they are still in that broad Tucson area. Perhaps not right in Tucson, but close enough,” Levin mentioned.
Furthermore, Levin expressed concern about the authorities’ growing desperation as Nancy remains missing after six days. The ransom note indicated it would be the only communication from the abductors. “They declared this would be the final communication, but now negotiations have moved forward, raising urgency for law enforcement,” he concluded.
Levin noted that the ransom note’s composition implies it’s not a crude forgery. “This isn’t something hastily scribbled together. It’s a very structured letter, indicating a certain level of organization and intent,” he said, suggesting it reflects someone with a clear motive. “It’s well thought out, even down to its grammar and structure. This isn’t just someone writing chaotic demands.”
