Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice has been absent from team practices as he faces two legal issues stemming from offseason incidents.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said Rice “Participate and participate in all activities” as the Chiefs began OTAs (organized team activities) on Monday.
Rice’s offseason troubles began in late March when he and friend SMU wideout Theodore “Teddy” Knox were allegedly competing on a Dallas freeway.
Both drivers lost control of their vehicles, resulting in a six-vehicle crash.
Approximately 4.5 seconds before the accident, Rice was driving his Lamborghini Urus at 119 mph at a speed of 119 mph.
Mr. Rice, Mr. Knox, and all of the passengers in the car fled the scene of the accident without checking on the welfare of any witnesses involved.
The receiver faces eight charges in the incident, including one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision with bodily injury, and six counts of collision with bodily injury.
Rice was then accused of punching a photographer at a Dallas-area nightclub earlier this month.
No charges have been filed in connection with the alleged nightclub incident.
Rice is facing a $10 million civil lawsuit from the victim of a March car crash.

“Despite his physical ability and responsibilities as a public figure, Defendant Rice raced a high-performance vehicle on public roads in Dallas County, Texas, lost control, and in this cause killed several innocent people, including Plaintiff. ,” the complaint states in part. .
Rice could face NFL discipline related to the car accident and even the nightclub dispute.
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk It was reported earlier this month Rice (or an associate) was accused of firing into the unoccupied car of a basketball player who Rice allegedly met with his girlfriend while at SMU.
According to the report, the incident was not reported to police, but it is believed that all NFL teams, including the Chiefs, were aware of the incident during the pre-draft process.
Rice caught 79 balls for 938 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
Last season, he led all Chiefs wide receivers in all of those stats, but tight end Travis Kelce had more catches and yards.
