Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) distorted Jewish traditions and called for the destruction of the Jewish state in a post marking the anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack.
In a post published on Instagram on October 6th, Tlaib talked about his participation in the JVP-Detroit commemorative ceremony. JVP stands for Jewish Voice for Peace, an organization with a history of supporting terrorism through rhetoric. (Last week, the organization's University of Michigan chapter announced the killing of Hezbollah terror leader Hassan Nasrallah. make a call (meaning “death to Israel”).
During the ceremony, participants performed the traditional Jewish ritual of throwing crumbs into “living water,” defined as a natural body of water. This ritual is usually performed during the Jewish New Year and symbolizes an individual's abandonment of his sins as part of a process of self-reflection and repentance.
Mr. Tlaib turned the ceremony into a call for “free Palestine,” a slogan that usually implies the destruction of Israel.
Mr. Tlaib has in the past called for a one-state solution to the conflict, namely the destruction of Israel as a Jewish state. (She then said she accepted a two-state solution, but falsely blamed Israel for not accepting a two-state solution.)
