On Sunday morning, Raskin (D-Md.) issued a warning, saying that if Trump loses the 2024 election, he will try “one more time” to “overturn” the results.

A Maryland lawmaker spoke before the U.S. Supreme Court and intervened in a case involving recent state decisions in Maine and Colorado. The decision included excluding Trump from the general election primary under Article 14 of the U.S. Constitution.th Riot Clause Amendment.

During the “State of the Union” show CNNRaskin declined to say whether Maine had chosen to ban Trump from the 2024 election under Title 14.th The constitutional amendment will make him a “martyr.”

Last week, Maine became the second state after Colorado to remove the former president from its ballot, claiming that Trump was “disqualified” for 14 reasons.th Fixed.

That may or may not be the case. The question is, what does the Constitution say? “Donald Trump can pose as a martyr in any situation,” Raskin asserted. “If he is allowed to remain on the ballot despite clearly inciting an insurrection and trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election and loses to Joe Biden…then he will consider himself a martyr. “They will feel that this is the case and will try to overturn the election.” ”

“So I don't think we can get scared away by Donald Trump. We have to enforce the Constitution. And that was definitely the Framers' design and they would have us do it.” he added.

Regarding President Trump's actions before and on January 6ththIn 2021, Raskin claimed the former president was “disqualified from the under-14 race.”th amendment,'' and the Supreme Court could make the final decision.

President Trump has already vowed to appeal both the Colorado and Maine rulings.

Additionally, Raskin said Trump's case could be difficult for the Supreme Court to decide.

“So under constitutional federalism, each state ultimately controls its own access to the vote and the candidates on its ballot,” Raskin declared. “And that's obviously difficult when you're talking about electing a president. The president is the only official in the United States and he's supposed to represent the entire country and represent everyone.”

“So I think it's urgent that the Supreme Court takes action. But it's tough for people who are falling for the argument that they want to keep Trump on the ballot and that this is undemocratic. “It will be,” he added.
