Rep. Jamie Ruskin (D-Md.) suggested that in his debate over the role of the Trump administration in banishing Kilmer Abrego Garcia and El Salvador to MegaPrison, he should not be kindly viewed on foreign governments that “fostered authoritarianism in our country.”
In a conversation with “Pod Save America” on April 18, host Tommy Vietor told Raskin that he told Raskin that Democrats were threatening to take action against foreign governments “to participate in extraordinary productions of American citizens.” Baiter said experts proposed cutting off future support and publicly “warning” Democrats “keeping the score.”
“Well, yes. We should now talk about cutting aid to El Salvador. The whole idea is ridiculous that Bukere has no power to return the American prisoners sent to him under an agreement that was paid $6 million by the United States.
“So I like that idea. And it’s a compliment to what we need to do now. It’s engaged in much more work with democratic governments and democratic movements and democratic solidarity around the world and working with people and political parties around the world to prevent the spread of lawlessness and fascist chaos unleashed against us,” Ruskin continued.

“But implicitly, it should be the idea that when we return to power, and if we do, we will not look to kindly to use the words of the day that promoted authoritarianism in our country. It is an attack on our constitution and our people.”
Abrego Garcia, 29 The illegal immigrant living in Maryland was deported to the MegaPrison Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) in El Salvador last month, and Trump officials confirmed that his deportation was an administrative error, but now some Trump authorities say he has been removed correctly and claim he is a member of the famous MS-13.
Abrego Garcia was recently moved from MegaPrison to a detention facility.

Four more Democrats arrived in El Salvador on Monday, with Abrego Garcia returning to the US
Rep. Robert Garcia of California, Maxwell Frost of Florida, Yassamine Ansari of Arizona, and Maxine Dexter of Oregon announced in a press release Monday that they had arrived at El Salvador. Four Democrats described Garcia as “a Maryland man of protected legal status illegally deported by the Trump administration.”

Their visit was D-Md. Senator Chris Van Hollen came last week after flying to El Salvador to meet Abrego Garcia.
