Immediately after the conclusion of Thursday night’s presidential debate between former President Trump and President Biden, social media users were inundated with reactions.
“Trump came across as more presidential tonight,” said Ari Fleischer, a former White House press secretary and Fox News contributor. Posted in X.
“Biden looked old, he stumbled a lot, he was stumbling. I don’t think he screwed up, but he wasn’t good. Trump was calm. It was a strong night for Trump.”
“Trump won the debate,” said Texas Republican Rep. Brian Harrison. Posted in X.
Biden made a surprising omission while claiming that no soldiers had been killed “anywhere in the world” during his term.

“There was no difference at all. And the Democrats know that.”
“Tonight’s debate was a make-or-break test for Joe Biden,” said Clay Travis, founder of Outkick.com. Post to X“And that was a loose scoring standard. And Biden still failed, even after a week of preparation. They’re going to replace him.”

Many media figures, including liberal ones, expressed concern about Biden’s performance in the debate.
“This debate was a complete disaster for Biden,” said former CNN commentator Chris Cillizza. I wrote to X“He looked old. His answers were interrupted a lot. It was hard to understand what he was saying. He would stop mid-sentence and go on to something else. I didn’t think he was that bad. It’s amazing, really.”
Others on social media suggested Biden’s performance was strong at times.
“It wasn’t great, but I don’t think Biden did that badly. He may have won the last 75 minutes, but the first 15 minutes are the most important,” said Brad Smith, a former Federal Election Commissioner. Posted in X.
