Two reality TV personalities reported feeling shaken after experiencing street assaults in Hollywood. The incidents occurred in broad daylight and were recorded on video.
The events unfolded on Sunday morning, March 29, at the busy intersection of Melrose Avenue and Vine Street.
One of the victims, Pol Atteu, along with his husband and “Put on a Gown and Go to Beverly Hills” host, Patrick Simpson, described this experience as one of the most terrifying moments they’ve faced.
Atteu recounted, “I don’t know if he recognized us or what, but it was just bizarre that this car pulled up diagonally in front of us, leaving us nowhere to go, and then started banging on our car. I genuinely can’t wrap my head around it.”
In a video from the incident, a man driving a Toyota 4Runner suddenly stopped at a red light, blocking their Mercedes-Benz. He then exited his SUV and approached them aggressively.
The footage captures the suspect striking their vehicle before retreating to his car. Instead of fleeing, the couple decided to follow the driver while they called 911.
“At 9:20 a.m., traffic was horrendous in the heart of LA,” Atteu noted, explaining that the driver hit their window with considerable force.
Simpson added that the situation escalated so rapidly that she immediately felt their safety was in jeopardy and urged her husband to lock the doors. “I’m yelling at him to, ‘Lock the car, lock the car,’ because we were completely stuck,” she said.
The couple insisted they had no prior interactions with the driver, who caught them completely off guard with his sudden aggression. They were adamant that they didn’t provoke any confrontation.
“I honestly thought, ‘This is it, I might die here,’” one of them recalled. “I’ve never experienced such dread on the streets of Los Angeles before,” Atteu shared afterward.
The incident grew more alarming as the suspect ignored traffic signals, driving erratically. Atteu speculated, “Maybe he was on something—there were kids in the vehicle.”
In response to this encounter, they released the video to raise awareness about the increasing unpredictability and aggression on LA streets.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether the suspect has been identified or arrested.
