Reality TV personality dies at 33 after being discovered in a drainage canal in Thailand

Jordan Wright, Star of The Only Way Is Essex, Dies at 33

Jordan Wright, a well-known figure from British reality television, has passed away at the age of 33. His death was confirmed by an ITV spokesperson on Thursday.

In a heartfelt statement, the network extended its condolences to Wright’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Local reports indicate that Wright was discovered dead in a drainage ditch near Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand, on March 14.

Thai police mentioned that his body was found face down. A hotel key was found on him, raising some questions. There are currently no signs of foul play, and an autopsy is being conducted to shed light on the cause of death.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Stirak Chuthon of the Choeng Thale Police Station, Wright had been staying at a hotel nearby and was due to check out shortly before he was found. Staff grew worried when he hadn’t checked out on time.

Hotel officials reported that they could not get in touch with Wright. A search of his room revealed no signs of anything unusual. Hotel records indicated he checked in alone and was supposed to leave on March 13. CCTV footage showed him appearing restless before leaving the hotel premises.

Officials are still waiting for autopsy results, which may clarify if any substances were involved. Investigators suspect he may have been dead for less than two days at the time his body was discovered.

Wright first gained notoriety in 2017 as a cast member on MTV’s Ex on the Beach and later appeared on the popular ITV series The Only Way Is Essex in 2018. After just one season, he opted to return to his previous career as a firefighter. Recently, he hinted at having moved to Thailand through a post on Instagram.

In his last Instagram update on March 6, Wright shared moments of his life in Thailand, showcasing experiences like swimming in an infinity pool, scuba diving, and riding a motorcycle. He captioned it simply: “I’m home,” featuring a Thai flag emoji.

Following his passing, many of his friends and fellow reality TV stars expressed their condolences on social media. Chloe Brockett wrote, “Rest in peace,” along with a heart emoji, while others shared similar messages filled with love and support.
