Chloe Kim’s Latest Olympic Achievement Amidst Social Media Concerns
Chloe Kim has once again enhanced her Olympic accolades, but she’s also made a notable change on social media.
The accomplished three-time halfpipe medalist shared on Friday that she had to disable direct messages on her Instagram account due to receiving “very disturbing images.”
“Hello, hello! Happy Friday! Unfortunately, I had to turn off my DMs because people are taking things too far,” Kim mentioned in her Story.
“I’ve seen so many fake and very disturbing images and videos that I need to protect myself. I hope to come back in time! I’m really enjoying connecting with you all! With love 💖💖”
At 25, Kim didn’t elaborate further on the images troubling her, but recently, fake visuals began circulating that suggest she and her NFL boyfriend, Browns player Myles Garrett, might be engaged.
During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” this past Wednesday, Kim clarified that the couple hasn’t made any wedding plans.
“Don’t be fooled, people!” she said, referring to what appeared to be an AI-generated image.
Kim pointed out that certain elements gave away the image’s inauthenticity.
“I wear sunglasses. I don’t want a man to propose with his sunglasses on,” she remarked.
These last two months have been quite challenging for Kim. She experienced a severe fall while training in Switzerland in early January, which resulted in a dislocated shoulder.
Nonetheless, she was selected for Team USA’s Olympic snowboard team.
“I’m really grateful to be in a position where I can win in all these events again and again,” she expressed earlier in the Winter Olympics.
Despite some rough moments during the competitions, including falls in her last two runs in the halfpipe, Kim secured a silver medal, just shy of gold.
