Tragic Case of Rebecca Park

The mother of murdered pregnant woman Rebecca Park has reportedly confessed to the horrifying act of removing her daughter’s fetus. She also claimed that the child’s father was her husband, who is also the stepfather of the victim, as detailed in court documents.

Rebecca Park, just 22 years old, was discovered dead in Michigan’s Manistee National Forest on November 25, after she had gone missing weeks earlier on November 3. At that time, she was 38 weeks pregnant.

The Wexford County Prosecutor’s Office has indicated that Courtney Bartholomew, 40, and her husband, Bradley Bartholomew, 47, are suspected of dragging Rebecca into the woods, stabbing her, and forcibly removing the baby from her womb.

Initially, Courtney Bartholomew denied any involvement in her daughter’s murder. However, she later confessed to police that she was awake during the incident when Bradley held a knife to her neck while Rebecca’s baby was being cut from her.

According to documents, Courtney attempted to tie the baby’s umbilical cord, and after the removal, Bradley slit Rebecca’s throat.

Furthermore, she allegedly told authorities that her husband, Bradley, was responsible for impregnating their daughter, making him the biological father of the child.

Tragically, the baby did not survive, and the couple allegedly disposed of the infant in a dumpster located at their home.

Both suspects face an array of serious charges, including first-degree premeditated murder, torture in confinement, conspiracy, and assault on a pregnant woman.
