Recent video message from Savannah Guthrie shows a serious change in tone.

Savannah Guthrie has shifted the tone of her message to her mother Nancy’s alleged captors, moving from hopeful to more serious, as noted on Monday’s show by NBC’s leading reporter.

“I believe it’s crucial to note what’s not said in the video, as much as what is,” said Tom Winter, the network’s law enforcement correspondent, as the deadline for ransom demands regarding the 84-year-old grandmother from Arizona approaches at 7 p.m. EST.

“The video doesn’t mention any deadlines,” he pointed out about Savannah’s latest message. “That’s clear at this point.

“What we do see is discussions about bringing Nancy home and celebrating her return. There’s no further request for proof of life,” he added.

On Saturday, Savannah and her siblings shared an updated video with their mother’s alleged captors, expressing their readiness to meet the demands to secure Nancy’s return.

“Please return my mom to us so we can celebrate together,” Savannah said, accompanied by her sister Annie and brother Camron in the emotional video.

“This is the only way we can find peace. This means so much to us, and we are prepared to pay,” she stated.

This update followed a second note allegedly sent by the kidnapper to a local television station, though the details of that note remain unknown.

The first ransom note demanded $4 million by the preceding Thursday or $6 million by the 7 p.m. deadline on Monday, threatening harm to Nancy if payment was not made.

In contrast to the initial response from the Gutheries regarding the original ransom note, this latest video did not ask for proof that Nancy was alive.

“Watching this video, what can you infer about that second note?” Winter mused. “I haven’t seen it myself, but it feels like there’s been some sort of shift in their approach, or at least in what they’re conveying.”

Authorities have not yet confirmed if the ransom notes are real or fabricated, including the one that mentions the $6 million demand in Bitcoin for Nancy’s release.

Nancy was last seen on January 31, dropped off at home in Tucson by her son-in-law after dinner with Annie at about 9:45 p.m.

Timeline of Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance:

She was reported missing the following day after not showing up at church, prompting police to initiate a criminal investigation.

The first ransom note, which was sent to several media outlets between Monday night and Tuesday, included specific details about Nancy’s home to lend credibility, though it lacked proof of life.

For ongoing updates regarding Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother:

On Wednesday, Savannah and her siblings publicly sought reassurance regarding their mother’s safety.

“It’s crucial for us to know she’s alive and in your possession. We want to hear from you. Please contact us,” Savannah pleaded tearfully in the video.

Following that, her brother released a video seeking a means to reach out to the alleged kidnappers before the first ransom deadline came and went on Thursday night.

A second note, claimed to be from the kidnapper, went out to several news organizations on Friday. While it did not present proof of survival, it reportedly described Nancy, according to NBC News.

The note also indicated that Nancy could be at risk if the ransom wasn’t paid by the approaching deadline on Monday, as per NBC’s reports.
