Red Lobster’s New Menu Items Stir Social Media Buzz
Red Lobster is making waves on social media with its latest menu offerings. Based in Orlando, Florida, the popular seafood chain has kicked off Clubfest, introducing two new dishes: the mariner boil and the sailor boil.
The mariner boil is quite the feast, featuring main lobster tails, shrimp, snow crab legs, corn, and red potatoes. In contrast, the sailor boil blends shrimp with smoked sausage, alongside corn and red potatoes.
Customers can choose to finish their meal with one of three tasty options: roasted garlic butter, Cajun butter, or Old Bay seasonings. Other dishes featured during Clubfest include Clubbee stuffed mushrooms, crab-topped asparagus, and both Steak and Salmon Oscars.
Prices typically range from $24 to $45, depending on the location, with the mariner boil generally costing more. In fact, some seafood boils at other venues can reach up to $75 per person, making Red Lobster’s offerings relatively affordable.
Reactions on Reddit have varied widely. One user excitedly remarked about the combination of seafood and sangria, while another hesitated, commenting on the low alcohol content of the $5 drink special introduced in December.
Some patrons expressed dissatisfaction with the food quality. One claimed their corn was cold, and the sausages were overcooked. Yet, others seemed pleased, with one user noting that they got a generous amount of food for $45 with Cajun butter.
Additional comments ranged from a user saying the food needed better seasoning to a satisfied diner rating their experience a 6.5. Overall, the feedback illustrates the mixed reception of Red Lobster’s new seafood offerings.
As social media activity around the new menu continues, it’s clear that while some rave about the freshness and value, others call for improvements in flavor and technique.
