Republican Rep. Juan Siscomani of Arizona on Tuesday fended off a challenge from another Republican who is applying pressure from the right in what is expected to be a close November primary election.
Ciscomani won the Republican primary for the 6th Congressional District over Kathleen Wynn, who came in third in the 2022 primary. In November, Ciscomani will face off against Democrat Kristen Engel, who garnered more than 49% of the vote against her in the 2022 election.

While Siscomani has touted his bipartisan credentials and repeatedly defended his ability to work with Democrats, Wynn disputed the notion that the district wants a moderate representative.
“We’ve been told this is a moderate district. I believe this is a conservative district,” she said this month. Tucson Sentinel.
Wynn also accused Siscomani of refusing to negotiate with her.
“My opponent doesn’t acknowledge my existence,” Wynn said.

But Siscomani managed to tout his support for former President Donald Trump.
“Congressman Juan Siscomani is doing a great job representing the great people of Arizona’s 6th Congressional District,” Trump told Truth Social in May. “Juan is working hard to secure our border, protect our great military and veterans, promote election integrity, and grow American jobs and our economy.”
The Cook Political Report rates the race as close and rates the district at R+3. In the 2022 election, Siscomani received 50.7% of the vote, while Engel received 49.2%.

This is one of many close races in battleground states where the presidential election is expected to be close, and there are many closely watched races for the House and Senate.

The race that attracts the most attention nationwide is the one in which the winner competes. Senator Kyrsten SinemaHe is not seeking re-election. Presidentially, the state was won by President Trump in 2016 and by President Biden in 2020.
