Rep. Don Bacon says Trump 'wrong' to call Zelensky a dictator

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said President Trump on Wednesday called Ukrainian President Voldymi Zelensky a dictator and appears to be “standing by his side” of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ta.

“The president needs daytime and daytime, and we'll try again. Bacon, a medium-sized Republican, said in an interview with CNN's Brianna Kaylor. “What he said was wrong.” I think there are, and that's a shame.”

Trump's words of war with Zelensky escalated on Wednesday, bringing him into a true society and calling the Ukrainian president a “elector-free dictator” who is doing “a horrifying job.”

Bacon said in an interview that Zelensky was actually democratically elected, and that the country's constitution allows elections to be postponed under martial law that was invoked for Russian invasion. He said he was democratically elected.

Bacon also said the president's words did not reflect the views of the entire GOP.

“Many Republicans know what the president said today,” Bacon said. “Putin began this invasion. He is a dictator. He killed all his enemies. Zelensky was justly elected.”

“Ukraine is a victim,” he added.

“And I want to be very strong with my words today,” Bacon said. “This Republican doesn't agree with what the president said.”

Tensions between Trump and Zelensky soon escalated after Ukraine was removed from consultations between us in Saudi Arabia and Russian authorities earlier this week, causing rebels from Zelensky.

Trump responded on Tuesday with an unfounded allegation that Zelensky had “started” the war, with Ukrainian leaders replied on Wednesday that the US president lives in a “net of disinformation.” Trump sent out a social post of his angry truth hours later.

“I think he handled that skillfully,” Bacon said. He was asked if he thought Zelensky responded to Trump appropriately. “You have to push back. He is a victim. Putin is an invader. Bombing the city of Putin. The Russians have wiped out the towns they took over, and they assassinate or kill prisoners. They were raped and plundered.”

“Russia is on the bad side here,” he added.

Bacon said he wanted President Trump to be stronger than former President Biden than Ukraine.

“We wanted this president to step up and end this war the right way, and what we see today is not a noble course of action,” Bacon said. Ta. “We stand on the side of dictators, not democracy.”
