Rep. Mike Lawler anticipates that midterms will be determined by voters turning against far-left 'politics of envy'

Lawler Predicts Defeat for Far-Left Candidates in Midterms

Representative Mike Lawler, a Republican from New York, has expressed his belief that far-left candidates will face defeat in the upcoming midterm elections. He feels confident that American voters will turn away from what he describes as the “politics of envy.”

During an appearance on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Lawler echoed warnings previously made by former President Donald Trump regarding the rise of far-left ideology in the U.S. Trump had mentioned these concerns in his recent speech at Mount Rushmore.

“There’s a growing politics of envy and jealousy,” Lawler remarked. “However, I truly believe in the goodness of America and its people, and they will decisively reject this in the November elections.”

Trump’s speech at Mount Rushmore was part of a weekend celebration marking the nation’s 250th anniversary. He asserted that America’s identity is under renewed threat. Notably, he recalled the victory over communism during the Cold War and expressed worry about its resurgence.

In his words, “As we approach this significant anniversary, we’re seeing America’s identity face renewed attacks. A generation after defeating the threat of communism, we find ourselves confronting it once again.”

Trump characterized the country’s drift toward communism as the “greatest threat” facing the nation, asserting that he won’t tolerate it. He emphasized that the American Dream is still alive and well, even after 250 years.

Lawler pointed out that several Democratic Socialist candidates have secured primary victories recently, including in New York. He deemed these recent successes—and what he sees as anti-American sentiment—as a betrayal of the Founding Fathers’ vision, especially significant with the country’s upcoming anniversary.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has voiced similar concerns, stating that the nation is in “very serious times” as communism appears to be finding a foothold domestically.

“Marxists have nominated some of the most radical candidates ever to run for Parliament,” Johnson commented. “The insurgent left is gaining momentum.”

Despite these worries, Lawler remains optimistic, arguing that political disagreements shouldn’t divide the country irreparably. He concluded with a hopeful note, stating, “As we embark on the next 250 years, this country is the greatest nation on earth. Regardless of our differences, we should all be thankful we live in the United States.”
