This was not his first experience.
During a recent immigration crackdown by the Trump administration in Texas, illegal immigrants with extensive criminal records were deported from the US on 40 occasions.
Julian Estrada Garcia, a 36-year-old from Mexico, was sued by the state alongside immigration and customs enforcement officials during a two-week operation conducted in Houston last month.
Individuals who frequently crossed the border were sent back from the Lone Star State to Mexico once again.
While residing in the United States, Estrada Garcia engaged in various offenses, including driving under the influence, illegal drug possession, and fraud-related charges.
He was also found guilty four times of illegally entering the United States.
“This is merely a glimpse of the outstanding efforts performed daily by courageous men and women in ICE to enhance public safety in southeastern Texas,” stated Brett Bradford, director of field offices in Houston, in a statement provided to the Post.
“ICE will persist in diligently pursuing and removing individuals who endanger the safety of our communities and the national security of our nation,” he further stated.
Estrada Garcia was one of many illegal immigrants targeted during the Houston operation.
ICE also deported a 48-year-old Mexican national with a lengthy criminal history, 13 previous exits from the US, and 25 felony convictions, along with a 50-year-old member of the Florencia 13 gang.
The extensive deportation efforts of the Trump administration have culminated in 113,000 arrests and over 100,000 deportations since the president assumed office on January 20th.
ICE has already reached its “maximum” detention capacity, and Trump officials are urging Congress for additional funding to expand bed availability to support these efforts.
