An employee at a Pennsylvania fast-food restaurant reportedly stabbed a customer multiple times in the torso and head Tuesday night in what police believe was self-defense.
Just before midnight at a Popeyes in Philadelphia's Logan neighborhood, a 28-year-old man got into an argument with employees over food that escalated into violence, police said. W.P.VI. Reported.
Officials said there were about eight employees at the restaurant at the time of the incident. Police say one of the employees stabbed the assaulting customer multiple times in an act of self-defense.
“The 28-year-old customer got into some type of altercation with an employee over a food order and began attacking and assaulting one of the employees,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department. “Other employees intervened and attempted to push the 28-year-old man out the front door. At that time, the 34-year-old employee who had been assaulted pulled a knife and stabbed the 28-year-old employee. .”

A Popeyes employee who allegedly stabbed a diner during an argument in self-defense did not leave the scene and remained cooperative with authorities. Law enforcement said no employees have been charged at this time.
Police said the entire incident was captured on surveillance video.
Shoppers at the strip mall told WPVI it's not surprising that such a fight would turn violent.
“They seem to be more impatient and want instant gratification,” Levin Tillman said.
