Report: Lady Gaga Discovered Brazil Concert Bomb Threat in an Unexpected Manner

Lady Gaga Unaware of Bomb Threat at Brazil Concert

Reports suggest that Lady Gaga’s team didn’t learn about a bomb threat until the news broke on May 3rd during her concert in Brazil. A spokesperson for Gaga stated that they were completely unaware of any suspicious threats until media reports began to circulate the following day.

“There were no known safety concerns before or during the show, nor did we receive any warnings from authorities,” the spokesperson clarified, adding, “This morning I found out about the alleged threat through the news.”

On the same day, police arrested two individuals connected to the free performance at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

A representative for Gaga noted that her team coordinated closely with law enforcement during the concert’s planning and execution, asserting that all parties had confidence in the safety measures implemented.

The Hollywood Reporter mentioned that Gaga drew an astonishing crowd, stating it could be the largest in her career with roughly 2.5 million attendees.

Brazilian authorities revealed that they had collaborated with the Justice Department to thwart planned attacks aimed at LGBT individuals. The police stated that these groups were recruiting young people to perpetrate assaults using Molotov cocktails and homemade explosives.

“The plan was framed as a ‘collective challenge’ to gain notoriety on social media,” the authorities said.

Law enforcement arrested a teenage leader, who faced charges related to illegal weapons and child pornography after conducting raids on the homes of 15 suspects and seizing their electronics. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the teenage suspect was apprehended amid concerns over illegal arms and explicit materials.

Following her concert, Gaga addressed her fans but chose not to comment on the bomb threat. She expressed her overwhelming emotions about performing for the Brazilian audience, stating, “I couldn’t prepare for the feeling I had on last night’s show. The absolute pride and joy I felt singing for the Brazilian people. The sight of the crowd during the opening song gave me a breath.” She later posted on Instagram, reflecting on the moment, sharing, “I think it is the largest crowd in history.”

Details regarding the arrested suspect were not immediately disclosed.
