REPORT: Pregnant Woman Who Suffered From Several Failed Pregnancies Shot By Estranged Husband In Indianapolis

Indianapolis police on Sunday arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting his estranged wife and killing her unborn child and charged him with attempted murder. The woman had reportedly lost several pregnancies.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) arrested Jeremy McBride, 36, after responding to a report of a shooting shortly after 6 p.m., according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD). statement. Police say they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital, where the fetus was pronounced dead. Authorities expect the woman to survive.

“She had several failed pregnancies in the past, but at five months pregnant she had a miracle baby, but she lost her baby due to this outrageous crime committed against her,” the family said. “Thank God she is alive and not paralyzed. However, she has already undergone several surgeries including the removal of her left ovary, left fallopian tube, part of her small intestine, and part of her colon. She has undergone several repairs to her uterus. ”

IMPD said investigators collected evidence at the scene and gathered information from neighbors that indicated McBride was the suspect. Officers spotted Jeremy driving, conducted a traffic stop and arrested him without incident about 30 minutes after the alleged shooting. Police said they recovered a firearm from his car.

Witnesses told officers that when Kayla entered the residence to do laundry, she saw McBride standing near Kayla, who was bleeding on the ground, WRTV reported. That's what it means. Witnesses claimed they appeared to be talking to someone on the phone about the shooting.

Another woman later told police on the phone that Jeremy had called her and told her he had shot his wife and was going to the police station to turn himself in, according to the probable cause affidavit. This allowed police to locate Jeremy's SUV on his way to the station.

During questioning Monday, McBride allegedly told detectives that he went to the house to kill Kayla, the baby, and himself. Prosecutors said he could face additional charges.

“This is a truly tragic incident and our hearts go out to everyone affected,” said IMPD Deputy Chief Kendale Adams.

“The swift arrest of this suspect is a testament to the valuable information provided by community members, the determination of our officers, and the diligent investigative work of our detectives. I would also like to thank the prosecutor's office for their assistance,” Adams added.
