Report shows majority groups protesting DNC “extremist”

The protests raging outside the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois have apparently gotten so bad that a security barrier has been erected around the convention.

A barrier to protect insiders from outsiders? Ironic.

But perhaps the even greater irony is that of the 200 groups expected to protest outside the Democratic National Convention this week, 150 would be classified as “extremist” groups — and not the kind of “extremist” that the left accuses J.D. Vance of.

No, Chicago’s extremist groups are defined as “very narrow” by the Capital Research Center’s definition. Glenn Beck.

According to the Capital Research Center, “Extremist groups are designated as extremist only if they have documented ties to or public support for terrorism or terrorist groups, ties to or public solidarity with hostile foreign governments, and/or support anarchism, Marxism, or communism.”

With that definition in mind, Glenn reads a shocking report about the group currently in Chicago.

  • “At least 279 extremist groups are currently in the streets as part of a coalition marching on the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.”
  • There is “another coalition openly plotting disruption at the convention.”
  • “Several Chicago-based Muslim groups have also been involved in this effort, but have not officially joined any of the coalitions.”
  • “Of the 229 groups involved in anti-DNC activities, 162, or 71 percent, qualify as extremist groups.”
  • “At least 147 anti-DNC groups have publicly stated support for or ties to terrorist groups or terrorist attacks, and of those 147 groups, a small number have ties to or publicly supported Hamas or the October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel.”
  • “There is also a presence on the ground of Iranian-backed Marxist-Leninist terrorist groups allied with Hamas…. They have strong and direct ties to a coalition that is openly seeking a violent re-enactment of the 1968 Democratic Party Convention.”
  • “Most of the extremist groups identified have ties to or have declared solidarity with at least one of nine foreign governments hostile to the United States, including Iran, China, Venezuela, Russia, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Pakistan and Nicaragua.”
  • “The extremist group has ties to or has declared its support for 19 foreign terrorist organizations, including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and the PFLP. [Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine]Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Iraqi Islamic Resistance, Lion’s Den, Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Muslim Brotherhood, Jamaat-e-Islami, Taliban, Al-Qaeda, Marxist Terrorists in Puerto Rico, and Islamist Terrorists in Sudan,” and many others.
  • “The Democratic National Convention’s public statements and the content of its website clearly support Hamas and the atrocities committed on October 7th.”
  • “The vast majority of extremist groups engage in, advocate for, or seek to support acts of violence, property destruction, and economic vandalism within the United States that are legitimately considered terrorist acts.”
  • “Our monitoring of mainstream media coverage of the protests reveals a near-total failure to inform readers and viewers about the pro-terrorism stances of groups and activists.”

“It’s a pretty long list,” Glenn said. “This is foreign interference by our greatest enemies, and Democrats are playing along with them.”
